The web applications offered by the SLF and by Suva (hereinafter referred to as the “publishers”) are in no way intended to replace practical avalanche training in the field. The web applications cannot be used as the sole tool for any decision-making situations in avalanche terrain. Persons who leave maintained trails to go off-piste and or go on tours in wintry terrain expose themselves to the risk of avalanches and accept all risks and responsibilities for any damage or injury of any kind caused by the triggering of avalanches. Instructions must be complied with in secured areas.
Use of White Risk
The web-based platform White Risk currently includes the applications Explore, Tour and Pro.
In the basic version, the basic sections of Explore and Tour without Swiss topographical maps and without any saving options are free of charge. The full version of Explore (all sections) and Tour can be used for test purposes once and free of charge for a period of 7 days.
Further uses of the White Risk applications are only possible when a corresponding licence is purchased.
Licences and prices
Payment of the license fee entitles the user to use the corresponding applications to the extent described below. The following licences are available:
Standard licence: CHF 29.- per year Use of Explore (all sections) and Tour (incl. Swiss topographical maps)
Pro licence: CHF 58.- per year Contains a standard licence plus the use of Pro.

Licence duration and notice of termination
Upon payment of the license fee, the user receives the appropriate licence for one year. The license is automatically renewed each year for a further year if the user fails to give notice to terminate the license before the expiry of this year. Before the end of each year, the user receives an e-mail with a reminder that the licence year will shortly be ending and that the license will be automatically extended by one year if not terminated by the user before the expiry of the license year. Any price changes will also be announced in this e-mail. If the user fails to terminate the licence before the expiry of the licence year, the license is automatically extended for another year and the respective license fee will be charged automatically to the credit card given by the user upon initial acquisition of the licence. Notice to terminate the licence can be given at anytime in the user account. Even if notification to terminate has been given by the user, continued use is still possible until the respective license year expires. The publishers are entitled to terminate the license with immediate effect if the user breaches any provision of these general terms and conditions.
